WS Cards of the Day – 08/21/14

The upcoming Persona 4 promotional card for participating in tournaments.

Analysis: An interesting mix of power at level 2, but it costs 2 stock. The bright side is that the encore ability makes it cost 1 less, but at only 8000 power for 2 stock, this is really expensive.

[Cont] If you have 1 or fewer other characters, this gains +1000 Power and 「[A] ENCORE [Discard a character card from hand to the waiting room]」.

Analysis: A potentially good level 0 that has 2500 base power. The upside is that you get +1000 power when it is the only character on the stage and has a nifty encore ability to boot.

Analysis: If you’re playing this powerhouse 3500 base power level 0, I hope you have a lot of Weapon and Daughter characters in your library. Of course, you could always run it just to clock yourself in the early turns to get to level 1.

[Auto] This ability activates up to once per turn. When you use an [S] ability, choose 1 of your characters with either <Key> and/or <Sports>, and that character gains +1000 Power for the turn.

Analysis: Most likely a support based character at level 2 that costs 1 stock. Gives a static +1000 power to all Key and/or Sports characters. The second ability allows you to give any character with Key and/or Sports +1000 power when you use an [S] ability. An expensive support to say the least, but at least it has two abilities.

Analysis: The standard level 2 support that costs 1 stock. +X power to characters in front where X = 500 times character level. The second ability is a Key character salvage at the cost of clocking yourself for 1.

If it’s Level 1 or higher, this card gains the following ability for the turn. 「[Auto] When this card becomes reversed, if the cost of the battle opponent of this card is 0 or lower, you may reverse that character.」 (Climax cards are considered level 0 for this effect)

Analysis: A conditional level 0 suicider. Chances are there are better cards to play, unless you want to load up on more level 1 and higher characters in yours deck.

[Auto] [Discard a card from hand to the waiting room] At the start of your opponent’s attack phase, you may pay cost. If so, choose 1 of your other characters and this card, stand them and swap them, and this card gains +2000 Power for the turn.

Analysis: Another level 3 revealed today in the form of Kengo. The first ability gives +500 power for each other character with Sports or Muscle which can be useful with other Masato or Kengo cards. The second ability is great in letting you swap places with your cards and give this card +2000 power for the price of discarding a single card.

[Auto] This ability activates up to once per turn. When you use an [S] ability, choose 1 of your characters, and that character gains +1000 Power for the turn.

Analysis: A Music character fetch, this card is good with other Music characters in Da Capo and outside of Neo-Standard as well. The second ability is playable too, since you can give a character +1000 power easily buy using an [S] ability.
